He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Doyle, Edna McConnell, Berthal and Marjorie Lyall; his brother Kevin McConnell; his cousin Sasha Leach; and his uncles, Keith Wolfe, James Lyall, Arthur Lyall and Richard Lyall.

He is survived by: his parents, Doyle McConnell and Donna McConnell (Lyall); his wife Sandra; his children, Brennen McConnell, Brianna Luna (Anthony) and Paige McConnell; his grandchildren, Bobbi Miller McConnell, Thea, Koda Luna, Tate, Teigen and Triton Halls; and his brother Jeff McConnell (Barbara).

In Lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations to the Herzog Foundation.
