He was predeceased by: his parents, William Gillispie and Delphia Gillispie (Nitzsche). He is survived by: his wife Linda Kaye Crane; his children, Derrick Gillispie (Jessica), Michael Gillispie and Chelsie Kallmeyer (Dustin); his grandchildren, Hallie, Macie, Jaxon and Maxwell Kallmeyer; his stepgrandson Aiden Howery (Kaile); and his sister Vicki Kennon (Jerry).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Andrew County Museum.
