Norman Hughes Obituary
We announce the death of Norman Hughes of Scott City, Missouri, who passed away on August 31, 2026, at the age of 86. Norman will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman D. Hughes and Rose L. Hughes (Walder); his grandson Alex Irvin; and his sister Carolyn Hughes. He is survived by: his children, Mark Hughes (Tracy), Amy Simpkins (Tra), Jennifer Hughes (Richard Stall, Jr.) and Lisa Thomas (Joe); his wife Sharon Hughes; his grandchildren, Courtney Goodman (Andy), Natalie Foley (Chase), Delaney Thomas, Cooper Thomas and Londyn Simpkins; and his siblings, Adrienne Calvert, Nancy Joiner and Michael Hughes. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Crain Funeral Home - Cape Girardeau (829 North West End Boulevard, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701). A memorial service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location. The inurnment was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 2:15 PM to 2:45 PM at the Calvary Cemetery (2501 Old Villa Ridge Rd, Villa Ridge, IL 62996).
