Velma Janie August Obituary
The memory of Velma Janie August (Scott City, Missouri), who passed away on September 20, 2025 at the age of 86, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred Krieger and Laura Catherine Krieger (Hopke); her husband Douglas Gene August; and her son Gregg August. She is survived by: her son Trent August (Patti) of Scott City; her grandsons, Nicholas August (Tammy) of Scott City and Mitchell August (Rachel) of Cape Girardeau; her great grandchildren, Aubrey, Emeric and Eleanor; her sister Mary Lee Holder (Everett) of Scott City; and her nephews, Terry Holder (Sandy) and Scott Holder (Sherry). She is also survived by many other nephew and nieces.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Eisleben Lutheran Cemetery (432 Lutheran Ln, Scott City, MO 63780). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Lightner Cemetery.
