He was born May 24, 1935 in Osage County, Missouri, a son of the late William and Anna (Fennewald) Borgmeyer. On May 7, 1960 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Argyle, MO, he was united in marriage to Olivia Schwartze, who survives of the home.

Mr. Borgmeyer was a graduate of Fatima High School in Westphalia. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959. After his time in the Army, he worked for McGraw-Edison in Jefferson City from 1959 to 1976. Art would go on to work as a shipping clerk for Waterloo Industries from 1976 until his retirement in 1997. He loved to fish and always had a great fishing story to tell. Art was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, as well as Knights of Columbus Council 831 and Fr. Tony Kraff Assembly 576 in Sedalia.

Also surviving are six children, Kevin Borgmeyer (Sue) of Sedalia, Karla Williams of Sedalia, Karen Landi (Ralph) of Blue Springs, Kristie Schear (Brent) of Cole Camp, Kurt Borgmeyer (Christina) of Cole Camp and Kyle Borgmeyer of Kansas City, MO; one sister, Alice Kampeter (Jerry) of Jefferson City; two brothers, Virgil Borgmeyer (Willemina) of Jefferson City and Kenneth Borgmeyer of Haslett, TX; seven grandchildren, Lisa Landi, Samantha Williams (Knicole), Troy Landi (Jodi), Jonathan Williams, Shane Borgmeyer (Kati), Ashley Schear and Meghan Horner; and one great-grandson, Ronan Borgmeyer.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Borgmeyer; sisters-in-law, Joan Borgmeyer and Lillian Buschmann; and brothers-in-law, Donald Schwartze and Glen Wieberg.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 2022 at the Sacred Heart Chapel of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Joe Corel officiating.
