He was predeceased by: his father Paul Barnabas Smith; and his brother Paul D. Smith. He is survived by: his mother Anna Elizabeth Smith (Shull) of Sedalia; and his siblings, Barbara O'Brien of Cole Camp, Steven "Joe" Smith of Sedalia and Edward Smith of Sedalia. He is also survived by twelve nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.
