He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernion Edward Dotson and Lois Lucille Dotson (West); his son Jeff Copas; and his brother Vernion "Sonny" Dotson. He is survived by: his children, Carrie Merriott of Sedalia, Tammy Dotson of Sedalia, Rick Dotson of Sedalia, Jerry Dotson of Kansas and Danny Dotson of Sedalia; and his sister Terry Borchers of Sedalia. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
