With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gary Barrett of Sedalia, Missouri, born in Kansas City, Missouri, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 17, 2025 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Gary departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Gary may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Gary leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his wife Diana Barrett; his parents, Jean Hensley and Dewey Barrett; and his sister Pamela McClaskey. He is survived by: his stepdaughter Jackie Dankert-Carnes (Patrick); his nieces, Rachel Johnson (Brian) of Sedalia and Tina Vaughn (Jon) of Pace, Florida; and his aunts, Karen Waller and Judy Thrall (Bruce). He is also survived by friends and neighbors.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Gary's honor may be made to the Sedalia Animal Shelter.
