He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Ebers and Martha Samenski Ebers; his brother Leroy Ebers; and his son Derek Moriarty. He is survived by: his children, Dawn Smith (Bruce) of Hannibal, Lance Ebers of Hannibal, Layne Ebers (Robin) of New London, Kyle Ebers (Jami) of Wichita, Kurt Ebers (Shona) of Hannibal, Michael Moriarty (Joyce) of Bates City and Tim Moriarty of Sedalia; his grandchildren, Denim Fletcher (Colby), Gabbi Quirk (Carter), Chloe Hertlein (Trever), Elayna Olson (Jake), Steele Ebers, Landen Ebers, Shaye Ebers, Mia Ebers, Stratten Ebers, Kirk Moriarty, Michael Moriarty, Cristin Berry (Michael), Nick Moriarty (Heather), Connor Moriarty, David Moriarty and Kaitlyn Moriarty; his sister Pat Gaines of Hannibal; and his siblings-in-law, Connie McLaughlin of Sedalia, Betty Downs of Sedalia, Earlene Weist Reser of Sedalia and Steve Spry of Sedalia.

Memorials are suggested to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church or the Bothwell Hospital Foundation in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
