She was predeceased by : her parents, Claude Herndon Sr. and Myrtle Johnson Herndon; her husband Robert Spruell; her sons, Marvin and Harold Maurice; and her brothers, Claude Jr., Howard, Kenneth and Bernard Herndon.

She is survived by : her children, Anthony "Toney" (Victoria) of Arizona, David (Dana) of Blue Springs and Denise. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren.
