He was predeceased by: his mother Stella Steele (Young). He is survived by: his father James Edward Steele I; his cousin Shirley Laramie; and his close friends, Roy Poynter of Sedalia, Calvin Dillon of Sedalia and Albert Emerson of Sedalia.
