He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Gaunt and Vera Gaunt; and his brother Michael J. Gaunt. He is survived by: his wife Dr. Alice Ruttinger-Gaunt; his sons, Dr. James A. Gaunt (Ashley) and Dr. Joshua A. Gaunt; his granddaughter Evelyn; and his brothers, Darrell Gaunt, Gary A. Gaunt (Cathy) and Roger Gaunt (Diana).
