With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Janet Ruth Thomas of Sedalia, Missouri, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 13, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Janet may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Janet touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Lawrence Redmon and Ruby Pauline Redmon (Hulse); and her sister-in-law Pat Thomas. She is survived by: her husband Marion Wallace Thomas; and her children, Ruth Ann Thomas (Mike Knull) of Cole Camp, MO, Donnie Thomas of Sedalia, MO, Jeffery Thomas of Sedalia, MO and Leslie Thomas (Jake Lowry) of Camdenton, MO..
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 24th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Rea Funeral Chapel (3510 W 16th St, Sedalia, MO 65301). A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 24th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at the same location. An entombment will be held on Monday, November 24th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Memorial Park Cemetery (1217 Business Loop 70 W, Columbia, MO 65202).
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Autism Foundation, in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
