We bid farewell to Mary Ellen Young of Sedalia, Missouri, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on August 7, 2025 at the age of 95. Mary Ellen touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her husband Douglas Clay Young; her grandson Robbie Young; and her sisters, Frances Goldsmith, Dixie England and Wilma Bishop.
She is survived by: her children, Steve Young of Sedalia, Connie Millbern (Stuart) of Blue Springs, Gary Young (Carla) of Sedalia and Douglas K. Young (Linda) of Kingsville; and her grandsons, Steven Young, Jr., Jason Young, Chris Young, Matt Young, Ryan Young and Lonnie Johnson. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, August 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Heckart Funeral Home & Cremation Services (903 S Ohio Ave, Sedalia, MO 65301). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, August 12th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association or EW Thompson Health and Rehab.
