Nicky Dean Long Obituary
Nicky Dean Long, 71, of Cole Camp, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. He was born on July 23, 1953, in St. Joseph, Missouri, a son of Horace and Evelyn (Canny) Long.
He grew up and attended school in St. Joseph and Ottumwa, Iowa, where he enjoyed riding his bike with his brother and hanging out with his dad. He also bagged groceries at the local grocery store in St. Joseph and made deliveries on his bike. After that he worked a second job at a local diner washing dishes. Nicky became a truck driver and worked for Norris and Son Trash Company in St. Joseph and Smithton from which he retired from in October of 2013.
On April 2, 2004, he was united in marriage to Patti (Kresal) Haulotte. Nicky loved being outdoors and listening to music while working in the yard. He enjoyed gardening and keeping his bird feeders full. He loved his family and got along with everyone, especially flirting with all the ladies. Nicky had a great sense of humor and loved to tease everyone, especially his doctor. He will certainly be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife, Patti Haulotte of the home; children, Jason Metcalf and Heather of St. Joseph, Jeremy Long of St. Joseph, Kris Haulotte and Erin of Sedalia, and Misty Miller and Thomas of Lincoln; sisters, Kim Jones and Lisa Baxter; brother, Joey Gray; grandchildren, Steven, Delyssa, Netanya (Little One), Jacob, Alexis, Olivia (Ollie), Ayden, Brayden, Remi, Kira, Ayce, and Hunter (Carrot Top); and great-grandchildren, Alexander, Silas, and Athena.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Evelyn Long, sister, Jody Mosher, and grandson, Christian Long.
Memorial services will be held from 2 - 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at the Jaycee House in Cole Camp. Arrangements are under the direction of the Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp. Online condolences may be left at http://www.foxfuneralhomecolecampmo.com.
