He was predeceased by: his parents, William Allen Ellis and Francis Ellis (Smith); his wife Helen Patricia "Patsy" Ellis; his son Monty Ellis; and his grandson Jonathan Eade.
He is survived by: his children, Lukas Ellis of Sedalia, Sherri Miller of Sedalia, David Wirtz (Donna) of Sedalia, Jonathan Wirtz of Sedalia, Mary VanWagner (Roger) of Dixon, Missouri, Matthew Wirtz of Stover, Missouri and Willard Wirtz (Tricia) of Stover, Missouri.; his grandchildren, Rachel Wirtz, Duane Hansen, Tiffany Hansen, Christopher Hansen, Tricia Cornine, Phelicia Shepherd, Skylar Ellis, Elijah Ellis and Brittany Miller; his brother Chris Ellis (Ann) of Sedalia; and his nieces and nephews, Karen, William, Jenny and Chrisman Ellis. He is also survived by thirty-three great-grandchildren.
