He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Preston and Lenora Gertrude Tucker (Ryan); his wife Janet Kay Tucker (Jones); and his son Richard D. Schmidt Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Jason Schmidt (Heidi) of Sedalia, Dustin Schmidt (Emily) of Sedalia, Casey Schmidt (Grant Leeka) of Sedalia, Jarrett Tucker (Ashley) of Sedalia, Jeff Tucker of Green Ridge, MO, Tim Draper of Holden, MO, Tamara Agustin and Dianna Marcum; and his sister Betty Mayfield. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the McKee Chapel Cemetery Association, in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
