He was predeceased by: his mother Hester Giffen; his sister Linda Dierker; and his grandmother Lillie Hasket. He is survived by: his father William Giffen; his close friend Sherry Smith; his sons, Eric Giffen (Jenny) of Sweet Springs, MO, Beau Giffen (Jessica) of Boonville, MO and Kyle Giffen (Becky) of Lake St; his stepchildren, Amy Bell (Dawn) of Kansas City, MO and Steve Bell (Alex) of Sedalia, MO; his grandchildren, Zack Giffen (Addison), Kyla Giffen, Seth Giffen, Briar Giffen, Willow Giffen, Hazel Giffen, Madelyn Bell, Morgan Bell, Monroe Bell and Tripp Rutledge; and his siblings, Wanda Newton of Marshall, MO and Mike Giffen of Warsaw, MO. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.

A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Mattingly Building.
