He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hoover and Elizabeth Hoover (Cooper); his daughter Gretchen Sumpter-Irwin; his granddaughter Tera Ulrich; and his sister Cathy Painter.
He is survived by: his wife Becky Hoover; his children, Lora Ulrich, Elizabeth Genevieve Ballard and Daniel Scott-Sumpter; and his grandchildren, Olivia, Charlie, Reece, Mallory, Ruby, Jayla, Jojo and Jack.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Parker Mortuary Chapel (1502 S Joplin Ave, Joplin, MO 64804). A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery (415 N St Louis Ave, Joplin, MO 64802).
