It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rick Swearengin Sr. of Seymour, Missouri, born in Springfield, Missouri, who passed away on April 24, 2026, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his mother Betty Jane Swearengin (Heard); and his close friend Julie Rippee. He is survived by: his father Bobby Joe; his spouse Sherrell Jean "Jeannie" Newman; his children, Ricky Joe Jr. (Becky) of Seymour and Gayla Freeman (Scott) of Diggins; his grandchildren, Timothy Beck of Diggins, Audrey Owings (Luke) of Willard, Jordan Freeman (Dara) of Pollock, Preston Freeman of Fordland, Ricky "Abiel" III and Reece Swearengin of Seymour; his great grandchildren, Tristan, Corbin Beck, Lucy, Gabriel Owings and Eleanor Freeman; his sister Sandy Newman (Gary) of Diggins; his nephew Jeff Newman (Brenda) of Seymour; his nieces, Angie Johns (Tony) of Diggins, Jeannie Newman (Swearengin) and Katie Pritchett (Spud); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Gunner and Grey Pritchett of Pleasant Hope, Missouri. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
