He was predeceased by: his parents, John O'Laughlin and Agnes Beatrice O'Laughlin (Caldwell); and his siblings, J. W., Leo O'Laughlin and Madeline O'Laughlin.

He is survived by: his wife Betty Sue Turner; his children, Deanie Maupin of Milton, FL, Chris Riley (Jay) of Warsaw, MO, Kent O'Laughlin (Kelly) of Shelbina, MO and Charlene Million (Kevin) of Warsaw, MO.; his grandchildren, Stephanie Hall (Bill), Jennifer Maupin, Amanda Ballard (Nathan), Anthony Maupin (Natalie), Ashley Dovin (David), Ryan Riley (Theresa), Emily Dobson (Wade), Kyle Riley, Aaron O'Laughlin (Kailee), Luke O'Laughlin (Taylor), Jana Ford, Christopher Riley (Chelsea) and McKenzie Ussery (Tyler); his siblings, Bernard O'Laughlin of Kearney, MO and Betty Ann O'Laughlin of Macon, MO; and his father-in-law O'Laughlin Quarry. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
