George Wilt Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of George Wilt of Shelbyville, Missouri, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 19, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson McVae and Clara Lucille Wilt (Olbert); his wife Helen Marie Monteith Stiefel; his sons, Jeffrey Roger Wilt and Christopher George Wilt; and his brothers, McVae Junior Wilt, Wayne Olbert Wilt, Bobbie Wallace Wilt, James Harold Wilt and Hiram Jack Wilt.

He is survived by: his children, Melinda Gloe (Roger) of Amarillo, TX and Bradley Wilt; his grandchildren, Jaime Hughes (Travis) of Willow Park, TX, Jason Gloe (Andrea) of Lubbock, TX, Lindsey Hughes (Brice) of Albuquerque, NM and Kelton Wilt of Palmyra, MO; and his sisters-in-law, Anna Jean Wilt, Linda Wilt and Dede Copelen. He is also survived by six great grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association.
