He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Jo (Hayes) and Mont Rich; his siblings, Beverly Rich and Gary "Wick" Rich; and his brother-in-law Ronnie "Sharky" Smith.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Kay; his children, John Rich of Columbia, Missouri and Kelly George (Joel); his grandsons, Elliott Lee and Oliver William of Hallsville, Missouri.; his siblings, Linda Smith, Bill Rich (Chris) and David "Josh" Rich of Shelbyville, Missouri; and his brother-in-law George Hardy (Barb) of Cairo. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
