He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Halter and Theresa Halter; his wife Mary Ann Lowes; his parents-in-law, Leonard and Helen Lowes; and his brother Michael Halter.
He is survived by: his children, Kevin Halter (Nikki) of Jackson, MO and Sherri Shrum of Cape Girardeau, MO; his grandchildren, Kristen Shrum, Matthew Halter, Isabell Halter, Natalie Shrum, Faith Halter and Emily Shrum; and his sister Judy Tankersley.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Mercy Health Foundation in care of the Cancer Center of Cape Girardeau, MO.
