Lee McMurray wrote a sympathy message

“I spent a lot of time at the Shells' home on Malcolm Street when Melanie and I were in grade school. Mr. and Mrs. Shell were lovely and kind people. I have fond memories of being in their home. Mr. Shell was the kind of dad who would talk to you if you were there when he got home from work. (David did try to bug us sometimes, but not too bad.) I know you will miss your dad. He was a very good man. Love and Prayers for all, Lee Clayton McMurray”
