With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Walter Lee Rainey Sr. of Sikeston, Missouri, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 28, 2025 at the age of 72. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Rainey and Margaret Pippens-Rainey; his wife Vera Rainey (Moore); and his siblings, Harvey Agnew, Frank J. Rainey, Henry Rainey, George Rainey, Jennie V. Bellmon, Helen Rainey-Brooks, Christine Gaynor, Mary O'Neal, Patricia Hollingbird and Jessie Rainey.
He is survived by: his children, Ramona Rainey of Memphis, Tennessee and Walter Rainey Jr. of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri; his grandchildren, Taylor McIntyre of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Kevin Morris Jr. (Cassie), Kayeshia Morris (Dominque) of Memphis, Tennessee and Kaleigh Baker of Kirksville, Missouri; his great grandchildren, Cai, Caitlyn, Korra, Kendyl, Keyln, Rashaad and Rashuan; his siblings, Juanita Brooks (Booker T.) of East St and Arthur "Lil Baby" Rainey of Columbia, Missouri; and his siblings-in-law, Samuel Bellmon of Chicago, Illinois, William Gaynor of Montpelier, Ned Dixon, Roy Moore of Sikeston, Missouri, Pearlie Moore and Linda Moore (Williamson) of Sikeston, Missouri. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
