We bid farewell to Betty G. Hays of Slater, Missouri, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 12, 2026 at the age of 94. Betty touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Otto Thompson and Blanche Cox Thompson; her husband Guy F. "Bucky" Hays, Jr.; her sons, Scott Hays and Greg Hays (Debbie); her siblings, Bobby Thompson, Jimmy Thompson and Phyllis Thompson Schieszer; and her nephew Robby Schieszer.
She is survived by: her son Rick L. Hays (Connie) of Slater; her grandchildren, Shaun Hays of Slater, Brett Hays (Sarah) of Lee's Summit, Dustin Hays (Kathleen) of Ballwin, Brody Hays, Emma Dawson, Deanna Giger and Alicia McGary; her great grandchildren, Cici Hays, Lane Hays, Sloane Hays, Chase Hays, Sophie Hays and Gabriel White; her nephew Jeff Thompson (Leesa) of Overland Park, Kansas; and her nieces, Teresa Schieszer and Shelly Nowlin of Lee's Summit. She is also survived by her son and daughters along with her children and grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the Joe Kleine/Roscoe White Basketball Court at Slater High School or Big Bend Retreat in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
