It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kaye Shaffer Southard of Slater, Missouri, born in Marshall, Missouri, who passed away on March 8, 2024, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Junior Wayne Barker and Lydia Lee Hinton Hammer; and her siblings, Richard Wayne Barker, William Bradley Dametz and Peggy Crane.

She is survived by : her son Samuel Lee Shaffer of Slater; her granddaughter Fyallon Shaffer Brown (Hunter) of Slater; her great grandchildren, Landyn Brown and Kamryn Brown; and her sisters, Shirley Van Buck of Lake and Vickie Thornton of Slater. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
