He was predeceased by: his parents, James Frank Brown and Dolly Kelso Silkwood; his stepparents, James Silkwood and Pearl Brown; his great grandchild Caylee Cramer; and his siblings, Doodle Brown, Dolly Hostetter, Ruby Schrand and Opal Martin.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Virginia Hostetter; his children, Russell W. Kelso Jr. of Sedalia, James Kelso (Christina) of Mt. Leonard, Jennifer Evans (Brian) of Slater and Stacy Evans of Sedalia; and his sisters, Ruth Gibson of Waverly and Louise Knox of Tipton. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Memorials are suggested to family choice, with checks made payable to Jennifer Evans, with those funds being used to purchase a headstone.
