He was predeceased by : his parents, Guy Eakins and Martha Jane Eakins; his siblings, Mary Barcliff, David, Steve, Galen and John Eakins; and his mother-in-law Myrtle Bybee (Oscar Bybee).

He is survived by : his wife Janice Eakins; his children, Paula Chasteen (Marty Chasteen), Guy Eakins (Laura Eakins) and Alan Eakins; his siblings, Janet Heatherly, Chuck, Tim, James and Mark Eakins; and also Scott Thomason (Pam Thomason). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
