With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Eugene Swearengin of Sparta, Missouri, who passed away on April 10, 2024 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Oscar Murlin and Ida Swearengin (Yates); his siblings, Betty Fitzgerald, Tommy Swearengin (Dwight Swearengin) and Stanley Workman; and his sister-in-law Floretta Swearengin.

He is survived by : his wife Katherine Yeary; his children, Robert Swearengin, Roger Swearengin, Tina Workizer (Randy) and Christy Barb (Matthew); his adoptive son Kenny Heriford; his grandchildren, Anna Swearengin, Megan Workizer, Ally Barb, Davin Workizer and Chandler Barb; his great grandchild Finley June Rubrecht; his siblings, Peggy Grimes (Jesse), Joan Workman, Dean Swearengin (Dortha) and Janis Preston (Bill); and his sister-in-law Diane Swearengin.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Barnes Family Funeral Home (1700 S 15th Ave, Ozark, MO 65721).
