He was predeceased by: his parents, Leland Ray and Lucy Ray (Watson); his brother Ralph Ray; his grandparents, Cornelius and Elizabeth Watson; and his nephew Keith Dooley.
He is survived by: his children, Sheryl Ann Ray Huesing (Alan) and Shaun Gene Ray (Laurie); and his siblings, J. C., Jackie Ray, Janice Dooley and Joyce Brixey.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Park Crest Baptist Church (816 W Republic Rd, Springfield, MO 65807). A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery (5201 S Southwood Rd, Springfield, MO 65804).
