He was predeceased by: his wife Minnie Mathes (Leonard); his parents, Benjamin "Harry" Sr. Mathes and Zelma Mathes (Hamilton); his siblings, Oscar Mathes, Willard Mathes, Arthur Mathes, Juanita Cooper, Norma Mathes, Vesta Emery, Harry Mathes Jr. and Alberta Huggins; and his grandson Michael Arts Jr. Complete.
He is survived by: his children, Pam Sutterfield (Dan) of Springfield, MO, Mark Mathes (Leisa) of Springfield, MO, Gary Mathes (Ginger) of Kansas City, MO and Christy Bryant (Steve) of Rolla, MO; his sister Retta Crocker of St. Charles, MO; and his grandchildren, Scott Sutterfield (Teisha), Brad Sutterfield (Megan), David Sutterfield, Danny Sutterfield (Jannece), Travis Sutterfield (Carrie), Bobbi Reavis (Caleb), Chad Mathes (Jessica), Nicki Rogers (Jaron), Luke Mathes (Tara), Ashley Kerr, Jonathon Kerr, Christina Kerr, Luke Bryant and Seth Bryant (Tiffanie). He is also survived by thirty-one great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Bob Mathes to the Baptist Bible Fellowship International to help continue the missionary work of granddaughter, Nicki, and her husband Jaron.
