He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Isaac Bennett and Ada Mildred Bennett; his daughter Elizabeth Gomes; and his brother Doyle Bennett. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Bennett of Springfield, MO; and his children, William Bennett (Janie) of Lansing, KS, Kimberley Tyler (Jay) of Willard, MO, Jeffry Bennett (Carvella) of Jefferson City, MO, Jason Bennett (Julie) of Clever, MO and James Bennett of Columbia, MO. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
