We announce the death of David Lynn Bass of Springfield, Missouri, who passed away on October 30, 2026, at the age of 81. David will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. David will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. David’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harley Bass and Louie Lorene Bass (Deckard). He is survived by: his wife Linda Bass; and his children, Kirk Bass, Tracy Simmons and Bill Coonis. He is also survived by his wife, children and grandchildren, friends and family.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 16th 2026 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Walnut Lawn Funeral Home (2001 W Walnut Lawn St, Springfield, MO 65807). The military honors will be held on Monday, November 16th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery (5201 S Southwood Rd, Springfield, MO 65804).
