He was predeceased by: his parents, Anna Pitkin Silverman and Joseph Silverman. He is survived by: his daughter Judith M. Kamien; his friend Roy T. Lloyd of Springfield, Missouri; his brother Jay Silverman; his cousin Leon Lasdon; Mary Ann Bourgeois of Schaghticoke and Laraine Kentridge Lasdon of Austin, Texas. He is also survived by three nieces; numerous cousins; and other family, friends.
He became a sought-after composer of music for commercials, television programs, and films; until the end of his life, he was a proud member of GEMA (the German equivalent of ASCAP), and was honored for fifty years of contributions to the post-war German musical scene.
