He was predeceased by: his parents, F. G. Capps and Flora Cornelius Capps; his former wife Norma May Jones; and his brothers, Bob and Edward Capps.

He is survived by: his wife Betty Wynema Jeremiah; his sons, Kenny Capps (Lori) of Lebanon, Missouri and Brian Capps of Lebanon, Missouri; and his grandchildren, Joshua, Ashton and Chandler. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
