It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Derwood Myrick of Springfield, Missouri, born in Big Spring, Texas, who passed away on September 3, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob B. Myrick and Velma Webb Myrick; his siblings, Gordon Myrick, Vada Tucker and Zada Reese; and his half-brother Eddie Ray Myrick.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Hinson Myrick of Springfield, Missouri; his children, Kim Myrick Hinkle (Danny) of Clarksville, AR, Justin Myrick of Springfield, Miranda Myrick of Springfield and Valorie Myrick Jones (Chris) of Rogers, AR.; his grandchildren, Abby Packingham, Logan Hinkle (Jessica), Elise Myrick, Kaelyn Myrick, Cole Packingham (Christina), Nate Derwood Hinkle, XiaMei Myrick, Camryn Hinkle and Rylee Myrick; his great grandchild Ryker Hinkle; his sister Kay Sue Gordon of Plattsburg; and his siblings-in-law, Pat Myrick of Big Spring, TX, Bernon "Nick" Hinson of Lafayette, LA and Vernon "Fat" Hinson of Westego, LA.. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial gifts be made to Rescue One of Springfield. https://rescueonespringfield.com In accordance with Woody's wishes, a family service will be held at Table Rock Lake in the future.
