He was predeceased by: his siblings, Elvis Cantwell and Virginia Reeves (Cantwell); his former wife Edna Stowers; his wife Mary Ann Cantwell (Logue); and his stepson John Hopkins.

He is survived by: his children, David Cantwell, Barbara Hubacheck and Jennifer Cordner (Rich); his grandchildren, Michael, Steven, Daniel, Jessica, Andrea, Caitlin, Rebecca and Elizabeth; his great grandchildren, Kayla, Kylie, Cameron, Eva, Caidin, Avery, Jace, Carlee, Loghan, Maddalynn, Autumn and Izabelle; his sisters, Dorothy Teague and Nina Hood; his former wife Patricia Bellamy; and his stepchildren, Harry Hopkins, Joe Hopkins (Delia), Susan Hopkins and Sandy Cantwell (Rick).
