She was predeceased by: her parents, Bert Thornton and Ethyl Thornton (Harris); her former husband Richard Compton; her husband Robert Blum; her sisters, Freda Maples, Sarah Huitt and Joyce Tummons; her children, Gary Compton and Mary Ann Smith; her grandson William Jones; and her son-in-law William "Bill" Jones.
She is survived by: her daughters, Loretta Compton (Troy Kidd), Kathy Young and Joetta Jones; her grandchildren, Aaron, James, Tracy, Angela, Diane, Shawna, Quinton, Amanda, MaryBeth, JoAnn, Neil and Emily; and her sister Geneva Freeman. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren.
