He was predeceased by: his parents, William Shadwell and Delise Shadwell (Hall); his son Terry Shadwell; his parents-in-law, Jess and Ruby Gastineau; and his siblings, Clyde Shadwell and Betty Wiseman.

He is survived by: his wife Augusta Shadwell; his sons, Udell Hurtado (JoAnn) and Doug Browning (Tonya); his granddaughter Jodell Underwood (John); and his great grandchildren, Brittany Underwood and Daniel Underwood.
