Thornton of Springfield, Missouri, born in Independence, Kansas, who passed away on January 24, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Evan Thornton and Lucille Thornton (McGuire); his wife Sandy; and his sisters, Trudy, Cinda and Linda.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to support youth sports at YMCA Camp Wakanda (campwakonda.org).
