She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam Sartain and Lucille Sartain; her former husband James Nelson; and her brother Billy Sartain. She is survived by: her husband Dean Hartman; her children, Janice Nelson, Mary Beth Hartman (Mike) and Laurie Hartman of Springfield; and her siblings, Sammy Sartain (Dinah) and Michael Sartain of Tuscaloosa. She is also survived by three grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
