With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gwendolyn Laveta Schmitt (Springfield, Missouri), born in Thayer, Kansas, who passed away on April 11, 2024 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her husband Frank D. Schmitt, Jr.; her mother Dorothy Hardin; and her siblings, Zelda Anderson and Larry Anderson. She is survived by : her children, Kelly Cornell of Cassville, MO., Gregg Yockey (Kandi) of Cassville, MO. and Cheryl Cole (Keith) of Cassville, MO.; and her siblings, Kathy Dillman (Pete) of Chanute, KS, Pam Lawrence of Webster, TX, Brian Hardin of Buffalo, KS and Jimmy Hardin (Cathy) of Wichita, KS. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 10 great great-grandchildren, her family and friends.
