We bid farewell to James Ray Sonnier in Springfield, Missouri, born in Opelousas, Louisiana, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 13, 2025 at the age of 69. James Ray touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sonnier and Ethel St Amand. He is survived by: his wife Barb; his children, Brian and Jill Artique (Albert); his siblings, Chris Sonnier, Lynn Meche and Carol Arnaud; his grandchildren, Jayden Price, Ryan Sonnier, Jacob Jones, Curtis Sonnier and Lyla; and his siblings-in-law, Jeanette and Erling Snorrason.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Greenlawn Funeral Home South (441 W Battlefield Rd, Springfield, MO 65807). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at the Manley Cemetery.
