It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jerry Doty (Springfield, Missouri), born in Independence, Missouri, who passed away on September 23, 2021, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin James and Mary Lorene Doty (Nichol); his brother James Edwin Doty; and his grandson Derek Anthony Doty. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Doty (Dunkle); his son Michael; his daughter-in-law Leigh Doty (Adams); his daughter Danielle (Doty); his son-in-law Andrew Blanton; and his grandchildren, Parker Doty, Mikayla Doty, Lily Blanton, Ellie Blanton and Callie Blanton.

“I knew Jerry during his time at Butler High School when Jerry was best friends with my brother, John Longworth. He and John shared a lifelong friendship and I have enjoyed through all those years hearing about Jerry, his college days, his career and his personal life. Jerry was one of the last “good guys,” a great individual, and an ardent family man. He will be missed by all whose life he touched. My sincere condolences to Brenda and his family.
