He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Edward Ackerman of Grand Lake, OK and Myrtle Jane Keller Ackerman of Springfield, MO.; his wife Jonne C. Harrison Ackerman; his children, Edward L. Ackerman and Susann C. Ackerman; his brother-in-law Robert W. Morris; and his former wife Mary J. Johnson Ackerman.

He is survived by: his son William L. Ackerman; his grandchildren, Jerrad L. Ackerman (Allison) and Audra J. Ackerman; his brother Garry A. Ackerman (Lois); his brother-in-law Jack R. Burchfield (Connie); his great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Lily, Ella, Alanna and Jared; and his fiancée Susan C. Phillips.
