John "Frank" Rountree Jr. Obituary
John “Frank” Rountree Jr, 71, of Republic, MO, passed away on April 26, 2022. Frank was born on November 8, 1950, to John “Frank”, Sr, and Montrey Rushing Rountree in Lockwood, MO. After graduating from Monett High School in 1968, he went on to a career with the Frisco / BNSF Railroad for 30 years. After retiring in 2000, Frank enjoyed his time working on race cars with Brad Looney Racing. He enjoyed late evenings working on the car and weekends at the races. When he wasn’t working on race cars he enjoyed time with family and friends.
Frank was married to Marsha Rountree for 36 years, they had two children, Melissa and Neil. They spent years traveling around the Midwest for his work with the Frisco / BNSF Railroad to return and settle in Republic in 1986. Here in Republic, he watched his children grow up and become parents themselves. He was very proud of his children in everything they do. Frank spent his last 11 years with his partner, Patsi Bryson and her daughter Misty. Frank and Patsi loved and cared for each other deeply. Patsi was his comfort and support through his hardest times.
He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Moore and her husband, Scott; his son, Neil Rountree and wife, Jennifer; his grandsons, Patch Clay, Miller Rountree, and Rush Rountree; sister, Mary Ball and her husband, David; niece, Sydney Ball and her fiancé, Brent Powers; nephew Austin Ball and his partner, Jamie Hedrick; along with a host of cousins. Frank is predeceased by his father John “Frank” Rountree, Sr. and his mother, Montrey Rushing Rountree.
He will be in our hearts and missed forever.
