He was predeceased by : his parents, Ellis "Bud" and Elizabeth; his sister Ann Cutberth (Larry); and his son-in-law Jeffrey Birkenfeld. He is survived by : his wife Patty (Francis); his children, Jeannine Birkenfeld, Audrey Schilling (James) and David Thurman (Jai); his grandsons, Jackson and Maxwell Schilling; and his children, Stella, Genevieve Birkenfeld, Oliver, Owen and Lily Thurman.
