She was predeceased by: her sister Kathy Balfanz; her parents, Jane Adams and John Balfanz; and her stepfather R. E. Adams. She is survived by: her husband Charles L. Sheppard Jr.; her children, Charles L. Sheppard III (Leonore), Jessica Polk (Joe Polk) and Jennifer Bell (Mark Bell); her adoptive daughter Victoria Charbonnet (Jody); and her grandchildren, Jesse E. Fields, Jr. and Katlyn Sheppard.
